Largo Association carried out consultative meetings with youngsters under I Have a Dream project in Dupnitsa and Radomir.
During these meetings they had the opportunity to openly share their opinion and discuss important topics related to Roma community ‘s issues.
The secondary school and university students who attened to the discussions highlighted the important role of women in the family, school, university and work. They shared their experiences and narrated personal stories and experiences, emphasizing interpersonal relationships, the need to share and their great willingness to participate in various trainings.
The project will implement new methods of empowering Roma women and girls through direct advocacy. The participants will go through a series of trainings on personal skills which they will have the opportunity to apply in practice.
The project "I have a dream" is implemented with the financial support of Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway under the Active Citizens Fund of Bulgaria within the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area. Largo Association has launched consultation meetings with Roma youth within a project "I have a dream". The first meetings implemented in Kyustendil, and the next week will continue in Dupnitsa and Radomir towns.
The project will include new methods for empowering Roma women and girls through direct advocacy. The participants will be trained through a series of trainings for personal skills, which they will have the opportunity to apply in the practice.
The main goal of the project is to contribute for the establishment of civic active women leaders who will serve as a good role model, both in Roma community and outside. The project is implemented in partnership with the Norwegian advocacy organization KUN, which has extensive experience in empowering of vulnerable social groups and protecting the rights of women and minorities.
